What Grades of Alumina Ceramic Are Available and How to Choose the Right One?

July 29, 2025

Alumina ceramics are generally classified based on purity: 85%, 92%, 95%, 96%, 99%, and 99.7%. The higher the alumina content, the better the performance in terms of hardness, temperature resistance, and electrical insulation. However, higher grades are also more brittle and expensive.

For structural parts in machinery or wear-resistant linings, 92% or 95% alumina may be sufficient. For semiconductor or medical applications, 99% and above are more appropriate. We offer expert consultation to help B2B buyers select the right grade based on their target application and market conditions.
