Silicon carbide ceramics maintains its high mechanical strength in temperatures as high as 1,400C. It has higher chemical corrosion resistance than other ceramics.
Sintered Silicon Carbide SiC is produced from pure sub-micron sic sinterable powder with non-oxide sintering aids. The sic material is sintered in an inert atmosphere at temperatures up to 2000ºC or higher.
Sintered silicon carbide is with excellent chemical resistance and good thermal shock resistance. Combined with a high maximum working temperature, high hardness and wear resistance, sintered sic ceramic is very suitable for use in both armor and highly corrosive environment applications.
